U.S. Wushu Team Trials (Taolu) scheduled for June 7th-8th, 2003
The 2003 U.S. Wushu Team Trials to select an official U.S. National Taolu Team to participate in the upcoming 7th World Wushu Championships (WWC) and the 5th Pan American Wushu Championships will be held at the University of Baltimore, Baltimore, Maryland, on June 7th-8th.
USAWKF previously announced that the team trials were tentatively scheduled at the end of April. However the Federation did not receive the formal invitations from the 7th WWC organizer until a month ago. The Board of Directors decided that beginning of June would be a more suitable dates for the following reasons:
1) There was concerns raised by some of our members about the final exams in colleges from the beginning to the middle of May.
2) The officials who will be organizing the team trials need more time for the logistics preparation, establishing selection criteria and coordination among the officials.
Also the current A Team members were consulted prior to the confirmation of the dates. Criteria of selection and details of the team trials will be posted on the Federation website soon.
Sanshou Team Trials will be scheduled at a different dates and location after the Taolu Team Trials. Confirmation and details will be announced soon.
