80 Athletes Registered For the U.S. National Wushu (Taolu) Team Trials in Virginia
Approximately 80 athletes from across the U.S. have registered to compete in the upcoming U.S. National Wushu (Taolu) Team Trials at the Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Virginia on July 26 & 27, 2003. Four male and four female athletes will be selected to represent the U.S. at the 7th World Wushu Championships in Macao, China from November 2 – 8, 2003.
There will be an Opening Ceremony on Saturday, July 26, and the Team Trials will take place promptly after the ceremony around 10:30 AM. The competitions will continue for two days, and the results will be announced once competitions are concluded.
There will be a Team Trial Athletes Meeting which will be held on Friday, July 25 at 7 PM at the Comfort Inn University Center, 1180 Main Street, Fairfax, Virginia 22030 (telephone: 703-591-5900). At this meeting, a more detailed schedule will be announced, and lots will be drawn to determine the order in which the athletes will compete. Athletes and coaches are encouraged to attend.
