IWUF 2004 International Judges Examination Course
The IWUF 2004 International Wushu Judges Examination Course will be held in Beijing, China in April, 2004. The course was originally scheduled for August 31-September 13, 2003 in Beijing. However, due to the SARS epidemic the IWUF decided to postpone the Course upon requests from the IWUF member federations.
The new Course will update the judges with the new Rules for International Wushu Competition which ash been revised with the objective requirement of the Olympic Games for general modern competitive sports to enable wushu to be in line with other international competitive sports so as to accelerate wushu's entry into the Olympics. It should further enhance wushu's technical development, encourage technical innovation, improve appreciativeness and be in favor of fair and impartial competitions. These opinions and plans were included in the competition program submitted to the IOC.
1. Date and PlaceThe Course for Taolu will be held from April 15 to 26, 2004.
The Course for Sanshou will be held from April 15 to 24, 2004.2. Eligibility of Participants
A) The existing international judge certificate holders are eligible to participate in the course for grading and they should:
- Be born after January 1 1947
B) The new candidates
The candidates should:
- Be citizens of the countries/regions of the IWUF member federations
- Have judging experience at national/ regional level or other important competitions
- Have a certain command of Chinese or English
- Be born after January 1 1957 and be in good health
3. Grading Criteria and Certificate
A) Existing international judge certificate holders
1) According to the "Detailed Regulations of Examination" the judges grading system will be adopted and the grades will be determined. New International Judge Certificates and Badges will be conferred if candidates pass the examination.
2) If any existing international judges do not take part in this grading examination, they will be regarded as giving up the qualification of the international judges. They will be regarded as first time candidates in future examinations.B) The new candidates
1) Those who pass the examination will receive the Grade "C" certificates for taolu judges and Grade "B" certificates for sanshou judges. The International Judge Certificates of Grading and Badges will be conferred to them.
2) Those who do not pass the examination can not receive the Certificates. Only the Certificates of Participation will be conferred by the IWUF.4. Cost
A) Certificate fee is US$ 20 per participant
B) US$80 per person per day (double room)
C) US$100 per person per day (single room)
D) US$60 per person per day (double room) for accompanying personAbove-mentioned costs include board, lodging and local transportation (airport hotel airport included), lectures, training, examination, venues, equipment, welcome and farewell parties.
