IWUF's Regulations Regarding 1st World Traditional Wushu Festival

Greetings!

The USAWKF would like to thank all the organizers of the team trials for the 1st World Traditional Wushu Festival (WTWF). We also want to thank Mr. Randy Li, President of USA National Traditional Wushu Federation and USAWKF Traditional Committee Chair, for his efforts in coordinating this event.

We have learned that some of the participants are confused regarding who is eligible to participate in the team trials, thinking that the 1st WTWF is open to participation by any individual or organization. Please note that this is an International Wushu Federation (IWUF) event and is therefore open to IWUF members only, with two exceptions as stated in the registration regulations:

1. The Organizing Committee can accept teams from a country or region which do not have an organization affiliated with the IWUF.

2. If an IWUF member has not registered a team by the preliminary registration deadline, July 30th, then the Organizing Committee can accept any team from that country/region.

The above will not apply to US because:

1. USAWKF is the official US member of IWUF.

2. USAWKF will register several teams by the preliminary deadline.

The above event is organized by IWUF for IWUF members only. However, the team trials organized by the USAWKF is open to all US citizens and permanent residents. All US competitors who participate in the 1st WTWF must be registered by the USAWKF. We feel it is important to fully explain the regulations regarding this issue so that participants will not be misled. Anyone who claims otherwise is not providing you with correct and accurate information. We do not want any US participant to be misled, and we have a responsibility to accurately inform the U.S. Wushu-Kungfu community.

Thank you very much for your attention.
