THE 2^nd SANSHOU WORLD CUP REGULATIONS

DATE AND PLACE
The 2^nd Sanshou World Cup will be held on November 5 - 7,2004 in Shenzhen, China.
COMPETITION EVENTS
Male: 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 90kg, and above 90kg

Female: 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg
PARTICIPANTS
1. Only the top three place winners (male and female) of each category of the 7^th World Wushu Championships are permitted to participate.
2. If, due to injury or illness, etc, competitors of the top three place of each category are unable to participate, the vacancy will be appointed by the IWUF Technical Committee.

COMPETITION METHODS
1. The knockout system will be adopted.
2. The weighing-in will be conducted before the drawing-lots after the competitors’ arrival.
3. The competition will be conducted in accordance with the latest edition of the Rules for the International Wushu Sanshou Competition.
PLACING AND AWARDS

The top three places of each event will be awarded as following:

1^st Place Gold Medal, Certificate and RMB ¥ 10000.00

2^nd Place Silver Medal, Certificate and RMB ¥ 6000.00

3^rd Place Bronze Medal, Certificate and RMB ¥ 3000.00
ENTRIES
1. Each team may enter one team leader, one coach and one team doctor.
2. Preliminary Entries: The Preliminary Entry Form and Questionnaire on Participant must reach the IWUF Secretariat by mail or fax no later than 24hr:00 (Beijing standard time) August 7, 2004. The Address is as follows:

3. Final Entries: The Final Entry Form must reach the IWUF Secretariat by mail or fax no later than 24:00 hrs (Beijing standard time) October 7, 2004 to the above address.
4. The Final Entry Forms must be prepared and certified in triplicate:
  1. One copy to the IWUF Secretariat in Beijing, China
  2. One copy to the Organizing Committee
  3. One copy must be brought with the team as confirmation during its registration.
5. All entries must be properly typed or printed in Chinese or English. They are valid only when signed by the President or Secretary General of the respective Federation and bearing the official stamp of the Federation.
COMPETITION MANAGEMENT AND TECHNICAL OFFICIALS

The 2^nd Sanshou World Cup Organizing Committee, under the guidance of the IWUF Executive Committee and Technical Committee, shall be responsible for the organization of the competitions during the Championships.
The judges of the World Cup will be invited after consultation between the Organizing Committee and the IWUF Technical Committee.

COSTUMES AND EQUIPMENT (PROTECTIVE GEARS)
1. Competitors shall wear costumes and equipment in compliance with the "Rules for International Sanshou Competition".
2. Competitors must prepare and bring gum-shield and jockstrap and two sets of costumes on their own (one set of black and one set of red).
3. Gloves and protective gears will be provided by the Organizing Committee.
OTHER MATTERS
1. Competitors are required to hand in: (1) Health Certificate (including electroencephalogram, electrocardiogram, pulse and blood pressure). The Health Certificate is valid within 20 days before the competition. (2) Life Insurance Certificate. Those competitors who cannot present both certificates are not allowed to participate.
2. The international airfare shall be the responsibility of each participating team.
3. The Organizing Committee will cover the qualified competitors’ board and lodge during the competition.
4. Each competitor shall hand in three (3) colored photos (2 inches).
5. Three (3) national flags, regional flags or federation flags (1mÍ 2m) shall be submitted.
6. The national anthem or federation song in cassette shall be submitted.
