2nd World Traditional Wushu Championships Dates Established
The dates have been finalized for the 2nd World Traditional Wushu Championships (formerly known as the World Traditional Wushu Festival). This prestigious event will be held from October 14 - October 19, 2006 in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, China.
Participants will be divided into six different age groups. Participants can participate in any of the following bare-hand routines: Taijiquan, Nanquan, Xingyi, Bagua, Baji, Tongbi, Pigua, Fanzi, Ditang, Xiangxing, Chaquan, Huaquan, Paoquan, Hongquan, Huaquan, Shaolinquan, or a category for other bare-hand routines. Participants also may participate in the following apparatus events: Gunshu, Qiangshu, Daoshu, Jianshu, double broadsword, double sword, double whip, double hook, three-section stick, whip, or the other apparatus. Dual and group events also are available.
The USAWKF's Traditional Committee currently is organizing team qualifying events that will take place over this summer. Information on the dates for these events, as well as the team selection criteria, will be posted on the USAWKF website as they become available.
